Fire and smoke damage in Santa Ana homes

SOS Restoration Santa Ana runs a fire loss end to end across Orange County. We board what is open, dry the water the hoses left, clear soot and odor, then rebuild. Soot reaches rooms the flame never did. Look free. Call (949) 522-4470.

Where does the work begin?

Boarding the openings, then drying what the hoses soaked.

A fire loss is also a water loss. Until the framing dries, mold grows on top of the burn. We secure the house, then dry to a reading, the way any water job runs.

The smell keeps coming back. Why?

Odor sits in the material, not the air you keep freshening.

Wash a surface and run the range hood and it lifts for a day, then returns on a warm afternoon. Soot is oily and acidic, so paint over it bleeds through. It comes off, or it stays.

The wildfire never reached my house. Am I clear?

Not always; ash gets into a closed house through the vents.

A fire miles away still pushes fine ash indoors, and it is acidic on metal and fabric. A guide on ash in a closed house covers what to check before you wipe anything.

Which towns do you reach?

Santa Ana and any Orange County address within about twenty miles.

The crew runs to Irvine, Tustin, Anaheim, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach and Laguna Beach. Smoke does not stop at a city line.

When is smoke not a job?

A scorched pan and a marked ceiling are not worth a claim or a crew.

Clean it, prime it, paint it. Smoke work earns its price when the smell is inside framing or ductwork, where paint reaches nothing and heat brings it back.

Do I have to leave the house?

Usually not, if the burn was contained and the air is filtered and monitored.

We seal the damaged rooms and run scrubbers so the rest stays usable. A structural burn or a heavy smoke load is different, and we say so.

Who rebuilds the burned rooms?

The same crew that cleared the soot, under one license.

No stranger takes over halfway. The same hands that pulled the smell frame and finish the rooms. Ask the dispatcher where one half meets the other.

What will fire work cost?

The look is free; an emergency fire call starts at $90 an hour.

The rate sheet lays out every figure. Our record becomes the insurance claim. A slab flooded by the hoses can add storm and water work.

Smoke crosses property lines and wildfire ash crosses whole cities. We work all of these, and each page notes what its buildings tend to do with smoke that was never theirs.
